Identify Qantas's internal and external environments. Design a diagram that gives examples of elements that would make up their internal, operating and macro environments

Internal environment:
Conditions inside the organisation that affect its performance. It includes anything Qantas has some degree of control over such as:

  • management policies
  • management processes
  • Office design/layout
Operating environment:
Refers to outside stakeholders that Qantas comes into direct contact with in the course of conducting its business such as:
  • Customers
  • Suppliers and creditors
  • Competitors 
  • Lobby groups
Macro environment:
This is made up of the broad factors in the economy and society within which Qantas operates such as:
  • Globalisation
  • Political influences
  • Technological developments
  • Economic influences
  • Social attitudes
  • Legal influences
